Tricks and toys made with MEMS digital microphones using PDM audio bit streams.

All of the code supporting this project is in a public fossil repository.

We are finding interesting things to do with the small digital MEMs microphones coupled with small microprocessors. We initially managed to compute a decent proxy for Sound Pressure Level in an 8-bit 8-pin Atmel ATTiny85 CPU from a 1 MHz PDM bit stream. Since then, we’ve moved to small ARMs, in NXP’s LPC800 family.
